iEinstein began with the initiatives of Junie Torre. A career teacher, Junie derives his name from the fact that he is the ‘Junior’ of his father. When asked to describe himself, Junie encapsulates himself half-jokingly as a ‘junkie in the science of linguistics.’ This unintended introduction to this relatively new field of study was owing to his Applied Linguistics doctorate course at De La Salle University in 2005, where he was fortuitously led to a course major on Minimalist Syntax, a serious, burgeoning line of inquiry in linguistic study as well as its proponent, the renowned philosopher Noam Chomsky, from whom the Cognitive Revolution is attributed to. Junie recognized the impact that Chomskyan linguistics would pose not merely in cognitive science, but in language education methodology in general, including the attendant and budding changes in language testing, marked specifically by the rise of IELTS, today’s biggest test globally, that which Junie had already begun teaching on the side, sometime 2007, in between French foreign language teaching in various universities. 

It was here where Junie began to connect the dots, realizing that the market for IELTS teaching did not conform to heated trends and developments in linguistic science, explaining the deploring passing rates witnessed continuously, up to this day. This served as the impetus to change the status quo, and this resulted in the tailor-fitted IELTS Review Program couched in Chomskyan linguistics, that which IELTS itself is grounded on. It is now this methodology that students have direct access to, through this portal. As Junie himself would frequently remind: through linguistic principles, the key to the IELTS exam has finally been revealed.
